Composition of the board of directors
E.C.H.O. is comprised of various federations, organisations and associations of private companies based in the member countries of the European Union.
Who can become a member? National associations of private enterprises operating in the eldercare and long-term care sector. Non-profit and domiciliary (home-based) care organisations may join, provided that they fully share in the aims and issues of E.C.H.O. If there is no national association in a country, local associations can join; if there is no local association in a country, individual enterprises can join, but no more than two per country.
If a local or national association becomes established in a country and decides to become a member of E.C.H.O., the individual enterprises must join that association. Non-EU countries can also join E.C.H.O.; associations become members as representatives of their countries. E.C.H.O. can twin with associations in non-EU countries, undersign cooperation agreements, and exchange information with them.
